Vicente_Ydrach

      Vicente Manuel Ydrach, holding a BBA, BFA, and MA, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on November 23, 1948. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Perpetuo Socorro Academy and the American Military Academy.

In 1970, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico. He passed the exams of the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Securities Dealers, beginning his career as a stockbroker, specializing in the sale of intangibles and investment instruments.

His retirement in 2005 led him back to his youthful passion: art and painting. With this in mind, he decided to study at the University of Puerto Rico's Department of Extension, working under the guidance of professors Rivera Ortiz and Laracuente. Simultaneously, he began private studies under the tutelage of the renowned artist Betsy Padín, which he continues to this day.

In 2007, he enrolled in the School of Fine Arts and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Painting. Between 2007 and 2008, he participated in several group exhibitions, and in 2010, he achieved his first solo exhibition at the Plata Gallery in Dorado.

In August 2011, he began pursuing a Master's degree in Painting at the graduate school of the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico. He completed the required credits for a Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in December 2013.

He served as a painting professor at the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico from 2016 to 2018 and currently continues his role as a painting instructor in his own studio.
